Trust is the product — so nothing is hidden
- ✓Masking happens in your browser. The engine is WebAssembly running on your page. Only the masked version ever leaves it — the AI provider never sees a real name, number, or address.
- ✓Chats are relayed, never stored. The built-in chat passes your masked messages straight through to the AI and streams the answer back. There are no chat tables, no logs of content — nothing lands on disk.
- ✓No content database, by design. Our servers store workspace settings — a name, a color, your dictionary. What you type has nowhere to go, so there is nothing to breach or subpoena.

Fair questions
Is nvkc.ai an AI?
No — it's the safety layer in front of one. The built-in chat relays your masked messages to a leading AI model and streams the answer back; nothing is logged or stored along the way, and you can just as easily copy the masked text into your own AI instead. nvkc.ai's job is that your real data never reaches any model, including ours.
What does the AI provider see — and keep?
Only the masked version: placeholders instead of names, numbers, and addresses. Retention worries are the whole reason nvkc.ai exists — even if a provider kept every word, your identities were never in it. The built-in chat also uses the provider's API tier, where inputs aren't used for model training by default — but the masking means you don't have to take anyone's word for anything.
Does masked text still get good answers from AI?
Yes. Placeholders are consistent — the same person is always [[NAME_1]], even when only a first name is mentioned — so the AI can reason about the situation normally. It just doesn't know who it's about.
What counts against the free monthly limit?
Unique sensitive values masked — not keystrokes, not documents. Masking the same email address a hundred times counts once. The counter lives in your browser's storage; we never see it, which also means it resets if you clear your browser data. We simply ask you to play fair.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Masking is identical on both — Pro doesn't make you "more private." What Pro adds is memory: your chats, your custom terms, and your settings follow you across devices. And they're stored zero-knowledge — encrypted in your browser with a key only you hold, so even we can't read them. Free keeps everything in the one browser you're using, with nothing saved.

What if the AI reformats a placeholder?
Restoration is tolerant: [[name_1]], [[NAME 1]], or [NAME_1] all restore correctly. Anything that looks like a placeholder but isn't in your vault gets flagged so you can check it.
Can it really catch every name?
Honest answer: no tool can, and the ones that claim to are guessing. nvkc.ai combines pattern detection, your organization's dictionary, and an optional aggressive mode — and it shows you every replacement, so what slipped through is visible instead of invisible. Add a missed term on the spot and it's masked everywhere, instantly.
What does NvisionKC see?
Workspace settings and standard web logs. If you use the built-in chat, your masked messages pass through our relay in transit — never stored, never logged — and your vault, originals, and usage counter never leave your browser at all. The network tab will confirm it; we encourage you to look.
